Green Eggs lofting rocket designed for Estes C11 and D engines. However, carrying a regular size raw egg as a payload comes very close to exceeding the max lift capability of most C6 engines used in other egg loft kits. Therefore, we recommend Estes C11 engines instead. They will provide a safe and stable flight, along with a recovery suited for small-sized flying fields.

Green Eggs lofting rocket's clear payload is big enough to carry TWO eggs (with a D12-3 engine)! Swept fins allow the egg lofting rocket to stand by itself.

The main body tube and clear payload section are both the same diameter so that you can glue a standard launch lug into place without the need for an awkward stand-off. Green Eggs Balsa fins are thick enough to enhance alignment and provide exceptional strength, even when Green Eggs are mounted through a wall.

All these lofting rocket features add up to less time building and, therefore, more fun time for your students to perform experiments with their “eggstronauts”.

The Green Eggs in the Classroom

Egg lofting can make for an exceptionally challenging and engaging rocket launch, and the Green Eggs from Estes make that challenge accessible to builders of all skill levels. This challenge can be as simple as the attempt, but can include an exploration of recovery systems and descent rates.

Challenge your students to find the optimal recovery system to bring down the eggs as quickly as possible while keeping them intact upon touchdown.
Eggs are commonplace in The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC), and the Green Eggs rocket is a perfect introduction into egg lofting to guide students to more ambitious rocketry goals. In model rocketry, an egg can help to simulate the need to appropriately slow the descent of astronauts en route back to earth. They represent just how fragile humans are when dealing with rocketry and velocity on a cosmic scale.

Loads of fun

A fantastic rocket that we launched twice on a sunny Father's Day. The kid's loved lunching both a toy chicken and an egg simultaneously. Everyone was smiles. I'm looking forward to launching an accelerometer or something "scientific" in the payload module.
