Overview

These instructions describe how to make a DIY Stomp Rocket Launcher that works perfectly with Estes T-Bolt, Zolt & Volt, and Whirlwind Air Rockets! Students can build this for an engineering challenge, and it is easy to take apart for storage to be used year after year. This Stomp Rocket Launcher sends Estes air rockets up to 50 feet high, and the cost of all materials is under $20!

Note to Educators: This is a very basic design for a DIY stomp rocket launcher. Students can investigate how they could modify this design to make it more efficient or effective. Suggestions could include different lengths of PVC pipe, changing the PVC pipe configurations, trying different kinds of 2-liter bottles, or alternative ways of applying the duct tape. The possibilities are endless!
