Overview

The Estes 1/4A3-3T engine is well suited for STEM programs, science classrooms, and youth group activities using lightweight model rockets. The 4 pack format allows instructors to plan multiple launches while keeping performance consistent across student builds.

Educators value the reliability of the 1/4A3-3T. Predictable ignition, steady thrust, and consistent timing help ensure successful flights, which builds student confidence and keeps activities running smoothly. This reliability also makes lesson planning easier and reduces lost class time due to unexpected flight behavior.

With a total impulse of 0.625 N-sec and a 3 second delay, this engine delivers safe, manageable performance for small rockets. The short burn and low lift capacity help protect student built airframes, making recovery and reuse more likely during repeated launch activities.

The 1/4A3-3T is an excellent choice for entry level rocketry lessons and youth programs focused on safe, repeatable launches. When paired with appropriate launch equipment and recovery systems, it supports engaging hands on learning while maintaining Estes safety standards.

Love these little engines!

Great for launching small rockets on small fields, when the urge to fly grows but the wind is not cooperating for larger, higher-flying rockets!
