Overview

The Estes B6-0 engine is a reliable booster stage designed specifically for two stage model rockets. When paired with a standard 18 mm upper stage engine, it provides a strong initial thrust that lifts the rocket before cleanly separating for second stage ignition. This predictable performance makes it ideal for teaching students how energy transfer and timed staging work in rocketry.

For educators, the B6-0 offers an excellent way to introduce the science behind multi-stage flight. Its consistent thrust curve makes it easy to replicate results across multiple launches, giving students measurable data they can use in classroom experiments. It is a simple and effective way to demonstrate Newton’s Laws of Motion, aerodynamics, and propulsion through direct observation.

Each package includes three engines, four starters, and four plugs, providing everything you need to support multiple group flights. The B6-0 performs best in rockets weighing up to four ounces, including the engines, and pairs perfectly with popular two stage models used in educational programs.

With dependable ignition and safe, consistent operation, the Estes B6-0 is a smart addition to any STEM curriculum or camp program focused on model rocketry. It gives students a hands-on look at how real-world rockets achieve high altitude through staged propulsion and helps make scientific concepts tangible and exciting.

Great 1st stage motors.

Ive become a big fan of B6-0 booster engines in my multistage rockets. They have a good kick and dont burn so long that the rocket begins to weather-****(something I experienced with C6-0 engines, which have a longer burn time).
