Overview

Bring more advanced model rocket construction into your classroom, club, or youth program with the Estes D and E Engine Mount Kit. This comprehensive accessory pack includes 19 individual components and enough parts to assemble one or two 24 mm engine mounts for use in compatible BT-55, BT-60, and BT-80 body tubes.

Explore Model Rocket Engineering

Building an engine mount gives students a closer look at how thrust is transferred through a rocket and why precise alignment matters. As learners assemble the mounting tube, centering rings, engine block, hook, and retainer, they can connect engineering principles to a functional system designed for powered flight.

Support Multiple Engine Configurations

The included components can be configured for Estes C11, D12, and E12 engines when installed according to the supplied instructions. An E-to-D spacer allows the longer E engine mount configuration to accommodate shorter C11 and D12 engines, giving students an opportunity to compare engine sizes and understand how retention systems adapt to different flight plans.

Designed for Custom Builds and Competitions

This kit is a valuable resource for student-designed rockets, engineering challenges, rocketry clubs, and ARC projects. Its selection of BT-50 engine mounting tubes and compatible centering components allows teams to test design ideas while developing skills in measurement, assembly, problem-solving, and performance evaluation.

Kit Contents

The package includes one large BT-80 laser-cut centering ring, one small BT-60 laser-cut centering ring, four AR-5055 adapter rings, three AR-2050 engine blocks, three 4-inch BT-50 engine mounting tubes, two black engine hook retainers, one E-to-D spacer, one D engine hook, and one E engine hook.

I love the D/E engine mount kits

I love the D/E engine mount kits. They work great for my scratch build projects.
I am using these to upgrade a Big Bertha, and a Baby Bertha to show a 4-H group how different engine sizes 18mm versus 24 mm can impact rocket flight.
