What You Need to Fly

In The Classroom

The Multi-Roc Rocket Kit is a dynamic and versatile tool for bringing hands-on STEM learning to life. Designed for intermediate rocketeers, this kit features six unique flight configurations, allowing students to explore single-stage and two-stage launches, payload recovery, and even glider deployment at apogee.

A standout feature is the included all-balsa parasite glider, which detaches at peak altitude and glides back to Earth—offering an engaging way to demonstrate aerodynamics, momentum, and energy transfer. With a maximum altitude of 1,200 feet and multiple build-and-launch options, the Multi-Roc supports both creativity and critical thinking in the classroom or club setting.

Key Features for Educators:

  • Includes booster, payload section, and parasite glider
  • Supports six different flight configurations
  • Flies up to 1,200 feet on Estes engines (sold separately)
  • Easy-to-follow instructions for guided assembly
  • Great for demonstrating staging, payload physics, and flight mechanics

Nice rocket..but

I bought the ‘big daddy’ rocket and it was an advanced rocket. It was fairly easy to me, so I decided to buy an expert level rocket. This one looked good to me, and I like the paint job. It also is 2 stages, and has a really cool glider. The rocket itself is fairly easy to assemble, but I think the glider is what makes the kit harder to build. You have to glue and angle the fins of the glider at an angle so it can fly right. The instructions give you little pieces you can lay the fins on, and let them dry at an angle. I tried that, and it isn’t easy at all. All it takes is a little movement and it will collapse, and you’ll have to start all over. Instead, I took 2 sanding blocks and the fins layed easily on them. You could also take 2 objects of the same height, and do that instead. Let them dry for 2 hours atleast, to ensure that they’re dry and won’t fall apart. Overall, this is a great kit for the price and I recommend it if you want a challenge.

I received this kit as a gift. I didn't expect

I received this kit as a gift. I didn't expect the glider to be all that impressive - but I was surprised how much I have enjoyed this rocket. The glider performs surprisingly well (didn't do anything special with it, just followed instructions and added the proper amount of nose weight). The glider circles perfectly (perhaps I got lucky?), and on each of the first two launches, it has landed near the sustainer. With my last launch, the glider was within three feet of the sustainer. I received cheers from the club at the launch with how close the glider landing was to the rocket.
I painted exactly as the catalog photo. The white paint on top was essential, it nearly glows in the sunlight as the glider circles. Otherwise, I might not be able to spot the glider as it circles. Carefully fit the booster engine into the booster stage - they must stay together! And carefully fit the sustainer engine into the sustainer. If you do this, as well as properly balance the glider, you will have very enjoyable flights. Be sure to have spotters to help track the pieces to aid recovery.
This rocket was far more fun than I expected, it has become one of my favorites to launch! (And yes, it isn't quite as configurable as supplied - but I didn't mind, I just always launch it with the payload section).
