This kit provides students hands-on engineering experience while they learn how to design rockets, without the worry of finding a launch field. Through learning concepts such as center of gravity and center of pressure, students will put their problem-solving skills to the test as they attempt to build a stable rocket and test it with the Estes Rocket Holder.

The Rocket Stability Kit is the perfect solution for using rocketry in your classroom without the worry of launch restrictions. It provides students hands-on engineering experience while they learn how to design rockets. Through learning concepts such as center of gravity and center of pressure, students will put their problem-solving skills to the test as they attempt to build a stable rocket and test it with the Estes Rocket Holder. This kit provides enough supplies for student groups to build 2-3 rockets so they can test their design, evaluate and redesign their design to improve their rocket stability. There are 108 different rocket configurations that students can explore. Because many schools don't have restrictions or limited space to launch, this kit gives your students the opportunity to experience rocketry in a fun, innovative way. In the FREE lesson plan, students will be challenged to design and build a stable rocket. They will work in groups and assume roles such as head of engineering, program manager and head of manufacturing. They will build communication, creative and teamwork skills as they work through this challenge to win a NASA contract for their design. Students will create a web page for their rocket and present their results to show the concepts they learned.

Now, there's an interesting idea for a kit! We used

Now, there's an interesting idea for a kit! We used to do string tests at Claremont Rocket Society 1966-1988. I went to college and co-wrote a stability program with another student called CP.bas. The more modern programs also do a visual drawing. Also our string was about twice as long. Perfect for group activities or rocketeers that simply want to understand stability by EXPERIENCE not some program.
