  • RECOMMENDED ENGINES: B4-4, B6-4, C6-5
  • PROJECTED ALTITUDE: 850 ft. (259 m)

In The Classroom

Where Problem Solving Meets Flight

The Astro Assembler™ introduces students to rocketry through a completely different lens. Instead of simply following a traditional build, learners assemble the rocket using interlocking puzzle pieces that wrap around the body tube. This process encourages critical thinking as students figure out how each piece fits, reinforcing sequencing, pattern recognition, and spatial awareness.

It turns the build into an active learning experience where every step requires observation, adjustment, and problem solving.

Engaging STEAM Learning in Action

This kit naturally integrates science, technology, engineering, art, and math into a single activity. Students explore engineering concepts like structure and alignment while also making creative decisions about color patterns and decal placement.

The result is a balanced experience that connects analytical thinking with creative expression, helping learners see how multiple disciplines come together in real-world applications.

Accessible for Beginners, Meaningful for Learners

Designed for ages 10 and up, the Astro Assembler provides an approachable entry point into model rocketry while still offering meaningful learning opportunities. The straightforward assembly process allows educators to focus on teaching key concepts rather than troubleshooting complex builds.

This makes it well suited for classrooms, after-school programs, camps, and youth organizations looking for structured yet engaging STEM activities.

From Build to Launch to Recovery

Students experience the full lifecycle of a rocket, from assembly to launch to recovery. Flying on Estes B4-4, B6-4, or C6-5 engines, the Astro Assembler can reach altitudes up to 850 feet before deploying its 15 inch parachute.

This complete experience reinforces lessons in physics, motion, and aerodynamics while providing a memorable visual moment that keeps students engaged and excited.

Encourages Collaboration and Creativity

The puzzle-based design makes this rocket especially effective for group settings. Students can work together to assemble sections, compare designs, and discuss different approaches to building and customization.

Each finished rocket reflects the creativity of its builder, giving students a sense of ownership and pride that extends beyond the launch.

A Blast to Build!

This new angle of making a puzzle out of a rocket is brilliant! I had fun with the build. Parts fit well. Instructions are clear and thorough. I will definitely be building more of these with the grandkids!
